Şule Akşit worked at DHMİ (Devlet Hava Meydanları İşletmesi) for approximately 1.5 years before she had moved to Cyprus. Şule Akşit came to TRNC in 1982 when her husband was employed in TRNC. She did not work from 1982 until 1990 and during that times he  looked at his twin daughters, Damla and Yağmur. Şule Akşit, In 1987, after passing the qualification examination in Cyprus, she started to work in Ercan Air Traffic Control Management as an Assistant Air Traffic Controller. Şule Akşit started working in Ercan Airport with Orkide Talay, Özgür Ergüden, Mehmet Emin Baykal, Cem Kahya, Eda Gazi, Naciye İlkman, Nuray Güçkan and Nazlı Arısu.
Şule Akşit successfully graduated from the 57th  Air Traffic Course from DHMI with Özgür Ergüden.
 On March, 2014, Şule Akşit retired as the First Female Controller from Ercan Air Traffic Management Center.
